The Salt Lake City Planning Commission held officer elections at the end of its Dec. 15 meeting and elected Commissioner Brian Scott as chair and Commissioner Jeffrey Barrett as vice chair for the remainder of the commission term.

Nominations were made from the floor and the commission conducted a roll‑call vote recorded by the secretary. Commissioners voted in favor of Scott for chair and Barrett for vice chair; both motions passed with recorded unanimous support of the six commissioners present.

The commission immediately resumed business under the new slate of officers and closed the meeting.

The elections take effect immediately; any administrative duties and schedule adjustments will be handled by the Planning Department staff.
