Commission hears church's alley safety request and praises police traffic presence on Frisco Road

During the Dec. 9 Yukon Traffic Commission meeting, a commissioner relayed safety concerns raised by members of First Baptist Yukon about a narrow alley between two buildings where vehicles sometimes travel the wrong way. The church said it would be willing to pay for barriers to prevent through traffic.
The commission noted closing part of a dedicated alley would require action by the city council and planning department. The chair advised the church to submit a written request to planning and council to initiate the process.
Separately, a speaker commended the Yukon Police Department for increased enforcement on Frisco Road, saying the department's visible presence has helped slow traffic and improve safety in that corridor.
