Page County Conservation reports Halloween turnout, winterizing parks and planned master conservationist course

Michelle, representing Page County Conservation, told the board she attended leadership training in October and that the Halloween event at Rap Park was successful, with nearly all of about 200 donated hot dogs distributed and children participating in games. She said staff have winterized park facilities, shut off campground water and removed dumpsters for storage offsite.
Michelle said she completed one of two required annual pesticide training videos and that she took open meetings training through Iowa public information. She reported an initial meeting with the extension office and Montgomery County about offering a master conservationist program next fall; details on participant limits were not yet set.
Michelle said she will spend December and January cutting brush and working on tree removal in parks as part of winter maintenance.
