Council discusses fencing and survey for Jerkins Park after property line question

Council members and residents discussed plans to reinstall fencing at Jerkins Park after a property‑line issue emerged while preparing a grant application. A resident noted that the previous fence line ran through a covered pavilion, and the nonprofit that uses the pavilion may not own the full structure.

Council asked staff to clarify property boundaries and whether the fence should be placed on the recorded line or an alternate alignment. "Our property line actually runs through this little covered pavilion area," a speaker said, and participants recommended surveying the parcel to determine ownership and fence placement before proceeding.

No formal action or expenditure was adopted at the meeting; staff and residents said a survey and grant application (Firdap) work would continue and that staff would follow up with a recommended plan and any necessary agreements with nonprofit partners.
