The Haslet Community and Economic Development Corporation handled routine governance at its Nov. 19 meeting, electing a treasurer, approving minutes and directing training to be handled in executive session.
A motion was made and seconded to nominate and elect Ian to serve as treasurer; the chair called the vote and described it as unanimous. The consent agenda, which included minutes from Oct. 15 and a special meeting on Nov. 5, was approved after a board member, Kathy, requested a clarification to the October minutes to name the properties referenced by a public commenter, Sandra Smith.
On item 9.4 the board voted unanimously to move an ad hoc workshop/training item to the December meeting and to convert it to an executive-session training led by the HCEDC's legal representative. The chair then closed the public meeting under Texas Government Code §551.071 to seek legal advice and reopened it at 9:02 p.m., reporting no action items from executive session.
Next steps: the training will be scheduled in December as an executive-session item and the economic grant process will be returned to the board for review by the new attorney.
