County Manager reported the county is hiring Pontifex Consulting to conduct a compensation study at a cost of $22,750 and said the study should take about seven weeks to complete so any salary recommendations can be incorporated into the operating budget. "We're hiring Pontifex Consulting to begin that work at a price of $22,750," the manager said.
The manager also distributed the Capital Improvement Program books and said Assistant County Manager McFadden will cover CIP items in detail at the next meeting. The manager requested approval of budget amendments submitted by the finance director; the board moved, seconded and approved the budget amendments by voice vote.
Finally, the manager asked the board to authorize the chairman to sign contract amendments that exceed the manager’s signature threshold; the board approved that authorization by motion and voice vote.
Staff said the compensation study is intended to align county pay with peer jurisdictions and support retention; no implementation details or resulting salary changes were presented at this meeting.
