Hampton Township’s EMS representative reported operational figures and a funding update at the Nov. 19 meeting.
The EMS presenter said the service responded to 133 calls in Hampton for the month (18 fewer than October) and recorded 1,429 year-to-date calls, 25 more than the prior year. The presenter described response-time monitoring and staffing patterns (two ambulances overnight, three during daytime) and highlighted days of higher call volume that inform staffing decisions.
On funding, the EMS representative said an ambulance that the service planned to rotate into the fleet had developed repeated mechanical issues and an unexpected replacement purchase of roughly $300,000 was required. The presenter said Senator Williams’ office and representatives (named in the transcript as Representative Powell, Schaefer and Ben Cat) helped secure approximately $214,000 toward a roughly $280,000 cost; staff said they hoped to secure additional grant funding to cover the remainder.
The council congratulated EMS staff on the grant-related news. Staff will continue to pursue grant funding and report back on procurement and financing options for the vehicle.
