CANYON LAKE, Calif. — The Canyon Lake City Council approved a conditional use permit Wednesday for a body-art business at 24370 Canyon Lake Drive, Suite 9, after staff told the council the proposal meets county health requirements and city staff had no objection.
City Manager Aaron Brown explained that California now categorizes tattoo establishments under the umbrella of “body art” (citing state health code provisions), that the county’s health requirements apply, and that staff recommended moving the application forward. No members of the public signed up to testify.
The council closed the hearing and approved the permit by unanimous roll-call vote.
What the council recorded: The staff report and the absence of public opposition were the basis for the council’s action; no special conditions beyond standard health-department requirements were noted on the record.
