Dayton recognizes nine city employees with Joseph T. Klein Awards

Klein, recognizes city employees regardless of rank. "This year, $5,488.80 will be divided equally among the 9 recipients who will each receive $609.87," Spencer said.
The nine awardees named by Spencer and cited by commissioners include Shannon Bush (office assistant 2, city manager's office, 6 years), Paul Fleischman (environmental compliance coordinator, Department of Water, 9 years; noted absent), Carolyn Glover (business manager, Department of Information Technology, 33 years), Steve Juncker (systems analyst 2, IT, 10 years), Amber King (benefits associate 1, HR, 2 years), Wendy Mitchell (office manager, Human Relations Council, 7 years), Vanessa Moon (office manager, IT, 6 years), Aaron Thomas (firefighter/paramedic, 11 years), and Brian Urban (Parks and Forestry district supervisor, 10 years).
Commissioners offered brief praise for the recipients and thanked the Klein family and Dayton Foundation for supporting the awards. City leadership said the awards span a wide range of service years and are intended to highlight both long-term and early-career contributions.
