At its Dec. 9 meeting, the Fairfield Township Board of Trustees adopted multiple resolutions that affect traffic restrictions, local development finance and township operations.
Resolution 25‑146 bans through trucks on specified township roadways after trustees removed two segments previously under consideration; the text imposes civil fines of $250 for a first violation, $500 for a second within one year and $1,000 for each subsequent violation. Trustees discussed enforcement options, including dispatching police to investigate complaints and coordinating with the City of Fairfield where signs already exist.
The board authorized the administrator to request consent to assignment of the Fairfield Logistics Tax Increment Financing agreement after the property sale and buyer assumption of the related debt payments. "They're just reassigning the debt to that property," Unidentified Speaker 3 said, describing the seller-to-buyer transfer the board authorized the administration to pursue.
On procurement, the board approved Resolution 25‑155 to accept bids for the 2026 curb-and‑gutter project and awarded the contract to Bridal Construction for $130,663.05 to be paid from the Princeton Road TIF. In separate action, trustees adopted Resolution 25‑157 to replace the township’s aging phone system: the purchase price is $50,721 with an annual maintenance charge of $3,515, reducing projected five‑year maintenance costs compared with the current arrangement. Unidentified Speaker 3 said the new system will provide "local survivability gateway" features so phones remain operational during certain failures and that the change is expected to lower yearly maintenance costs.
The board also approved Resolution 25‑158 to sign an agreement with MedBend to establish flexible spending accounts (health and dependent care) and a limited-purpose HRA tied to the township’s prescription-drug program; trustees asked staff to provide additional operational details of the HRA.
All resolutions were adopted by roll-call votes with affirmative responses from the trustees present. The meeting closed after an executive session called under ORC 121.22 (G)(1) and (G)(2) during which the trustees discussed personnel and property matters; the board reported no action resulted from that session.
