North Bend council adopts emergency ordinances and resolutions on first reading

Council members moved to declare Ordinance 2025-10 (appointing the village engineer and public works administrator) and Ordinance 2025-11 (reappointing the village law solicitor) emergency so the ordinances could be adopted on first reading. The council likewise declared Resolution 2025-34 (authorizing incentive bonuses to village employees) and Resolution 2025-35 (authorizing pay increases) emergency and adopted them on first reading; the meeting record shows the measures carried on council's oral vote. The council then declared Ordinance 2025-09, adopting a new zoning and inspection fee schedule, an emergency and adopted it on first reading after a second and an "Aye" vote.
Council also adopted Resolution 2025-33, approving a variance for a property at 105 Cliff Road (parcel 57300020159). During that discussion council noted the variance allowed an historic, approximately 8-foot gate and placed conditions to protect tree roots and set the structure back from the roadway.
