At its Dec. 9 meeting, the Mobile City Council completed several routine actions by voice vote.
The council approved the minutes of Nov. 25 and Dec. 2. Members granted waivers of the noise ordinance for planned events on Dec. 21 (Airport Boulevard), May 21 (Government Street) and Sept. 12 (Bridal Of Honor Park). The council also approved a package of consent resolutions that included appointments (Catherine O'Keefe to the Citizens Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee; Caitlin Fidella to the Mobile Housing Authority Board), purchase orders for fiber-optic installation and equipment, garbage-cart purchases, and an authorized contract for records-management services.
Council members called public hearings on several planning items scheduled for Jan. 13, including a proposed rezoning for property at 7125 Bellingraff Road (agenda summary corrected during the meeting to read R-1 to C-W). The council moved to hold ordinance 64-058 (appendix A, downtown development district) over to Jan. 6 to allow additional review.
Several amendments and vacation items were debated and approved in the meeting's course; the clerk recorded motions and voice votes for those items and the consent package. No controversial roll-call tallies were read into the record during Tuesday's session; outcomes were announced by voice vote.
