The governing board of the Catalina Foothills Unified School District recognized volunteer Jim Purdy on Nov. 25, 2025, for his years of service supporting district athletic programs. Board member Tom Logue introduced Purdy and presented a certificate, a nomination letter and a key chain in appreciation.
Logue described Purdy as "kind, compassionate, supportive, and always willing to help," noting he serves as basketball booster president, helps at football games (including chain gang duties), is an AIA-certified referee and assists with middle school cross-country timekeeping. Logue said Purdy often fills roles behind the scenes to support student athletes and staff.
Jim Purdy spoke briefly; staff and coaches also thanked him. Board members requested a photo and extended holiday wishes to the community. The recognition took place during the opening portion of the board—s Nov. 25 meeting. The board adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
