Council approves consent agenda, budget amendments, contract renewal and multiple board appointments

The Iberia Parish Council on Dec. 10 approved its consent agenda after removing three items for separate consideration. Among actions taken, the council:
- Approved a resolution to amend the 2025 general fund and public building maintenance fund budgets by $121,834 to fund courthouse façade improvements using federal ARPA lost revenue funds; the council accepted an amendment striking language about refurbishing two fountains and landscaping after administration said funds were not available for those items.
- Accepted a $65,000 CWEF grant amendment for upgrades to a portable water treatment plant and a $275,000 CWEF grant amendment to extend water lines, and approved a $30,000 LGAP state funding acceptance for computers and laptops.
- Renewed a one-year contract with For The Record Video Services LLC (doing business as Bob Larasini Productions) for videoing council meetings for the 2026 calendar year.
- Confirmed a series of appointments and acknowledgments to boards and commissions, including the Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory representative, members of hospital service districts, the regional planning commission, veterans memorial advisory board and the economic development authority.
- Granted preliminary and final plat approval for a 39.653-acre subdivision of property belonging to Darryl Delahoussaye creating two residential lots, subject to planning staff conditions.
Several appointments were adopted by voice vote; council members asked for background checks where applicable. The council announced the next meeting date (Jan. 14 for ordinances requiring publication) and adjourned the session at 06:51.
