At the close of its agenda, the West Allis Plan Commission received project-tracking updates and staff introduced a short survey for commissioners to give feedback on how staff presents plans and which topics commissioners want to see covered.
Staff highlighted housing projects currently under construction or progressing through permitting: the Hidden Lofts phased development (first building framed), Union Green (landscaping and park-adjacent improvements), and Access Apartments (a mid-rise of roughly 105 units plus an additional garden-style building of about 42 units). Staff said a draft housing study by Tracy Cross and Associates indicates the city could accommodate roughly 1,300 new apartment units and about 75 single-family homes over the next 10 years, and staff will share the draft study when complete.
On the survey, staff offered two submission formats (paper or Microsoft Forms), asked commissioners to return paper forms to the city clerk’s office and said the digital form will close on January 21, 2026; results will be shared at the next plan commission meeting on January 28. Staff encouraged detailed feedback but said the form can be completed quickly; one commissioner who tested the form completed it in under four minutes.
Commissioners thanked staff for the year’s work; the commission moved to adjourn and the meeting concluded.
