Council approves detective-vehicle purchases, surplus equipment and Woodman repaving change order

Riverside City Council adopted three resolutions on Dec. 1 authorizing equipment purchases, asset surplus and a public-works change order.
City Manager said funds earmarked in the capital equipment fund — dollars the city has been instructed to spend down per auditors’ recommendation — will be used to purchase three replacement detective vehicles that are past their service life. Acting Chief Jackson was introduced as available to answer questions; council approved Resolution 25-R-3062 by voice vote.
The council then approved Resolution 25-R-3063 to declare a set of municipal assets surplus, including a public-service 'vector' vacuum truck the manager described as effectively scrap because the chamber that holds the vacuum shattered; staff noted the truck is budgeted for replacement with stormwater dollars next year.
Finally, Resolution 25-R-3064 authorized a change order to repave Woodman Street (the stretch north of Eastman up to Burkhart). City Manager and staff said they pursued options to realize competitive pricing and estimated about $50,000 in overall savings (approximately 9–10%) if the work proceeds with Ohio Department of Transportation approval. Council moved, seconded and approved each resolution by voice vote.
