Wayne County prosecutor seeks $1.5 million reallocation to cover move to Criminal Justice Center

Tony Guerrero, chief of legislation, grants and community relations for Wayne County Prosecutor Kim Worthy, told the committee the prosecutor’s office requested a $1,500,000 budget reallocation to cover computer equipment and miscellaneous operating costs tied to the office’s move to the Criminal Justice Center.
Guerrero said the reallocation is distinct from 400 laptops previously approved by the full commission and is needed to reconcile additional hardwired and standalone computers located in assistant prosecutors' offices. "This should be the last budget adjustment that we require for the operating costs for the move to the Justice Center," Guerrero said, adding that miscellaneous operating costs will be reconciled through the budget cycle.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about the composition of the miscellaneous costs and Guerrero said staff would reconcile the line items during processing. The request was considered as part of the package of items approved by the committee.
