Commissioners approve CDBG RFQ advertisement, annexation petition and utility permit

Knox County Commissioners approved three routine agenda items during their Nov. 20 meeting: authorization to advertise for qualifications for administrative services tied to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), an expedited annexation petition and a utility permit.
A county official said the CDBG procurement (required every three years) will be advertised in a Melbourne news request; the county has used CDC of Ohio previously for consulting. A motion to approve the advertisement was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
The board also voted to accept an expedited type-1 annexation petition for 1.844 acres to move from Wayne Township into the village of Fredericktown; the motion to approve was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote. Separately, the board approved a utility permit request filed by Knox Energy Co-op for work on Monroe Mills Road in Howard Township.
Clerical business during the same portion of the meeting included a request that commissioners sign minutes and bills. The items were presented as routine and were approved without further public debate. The meeting proceeded to a scheduled presentation from Job and Family Services.
