The Brecksville‑Broadview Heights City School District Board of Education voted unanimously Dec. 10 to approve a five‑year employment resolution for Superintendent Jeffrey D. Harrison, extending his contract from Aug. 1, 2026, through July 31, 2031.
The resolution cites Ohio Revised Code section 3319.01 as the authority for the appointment. The motion was offered, seconded and passed on a roll‑call vote of 5–0. The board president read the resolution in open session and authorized the president to execute the employment agreement.
Board members praised Harrison’s leadership during remarks following the vote. “All arrows are pointing up,” one board member said, summarizing the board’s view of district performance under Harrison. Harrison thanked the board and said he hopes to retire from the district, calling the community’s support “truly special.”
The board recorded no dissenting votes. The agreement will take effect Aug. 1, 2026, under the terms described in the adopted resolution.
What’s next: The board’s organizational meeting is scheduled for Jan. 7, 2026; implementation details and the finalized contract will be executed by the board president as authorized by the resolution.
