Sheriff seeks countywide briefing on Flock license‑plate cameras after reporting local successes

He described investigations where camera data from neighboring counties helped track stolen items and locate suspects, and said the technology can provide alerts for stolen vehicles or help locate missing persons when a vehicle identifier is registered.
The sheriff recommended scheduling a presentation for city mayors and councils so city officials can hear directly from a vendor representative and ask questions about coverage, costs, privacy protections and access controls. He said some surrounding municipalities already use Flock and that participation requires a subscription or agreement with the vendor.
No formal decision was made; the sheriff said he will arrange for a flock representative to be placed on a future agenda and invited mayors and councils to attend.
