Procurement opens bids for snow removal, water meter disposal and other solicitations; city warns about unmarked bid copies
Summary
The Bureau of Procurement opened multiple solicitations including RFQ000742 (unclean brass water meter disposal) and RFQ000768 (snow removal services). Procurement staff warned many bidders failed to supply clearly marked public copies, which will limit public review and require agencies to keep originals for evaluation.

The Bureau of Procurement opened and recorded responses to multiple solicitations in a public bid opening on Dec. 3.
Procurement staff read responses for RFQ000742 (rebid for unclean brass water meter disposal) and reported two bidders with quoted factors; for RFQ000768 (snow removal services) the office received numerous responses including Hartford Tree Experts & Landscaping Inc.; Yatsar Dynasty LLC; Best Served (Best Serv); Yibo Landscaping LLC; Manuel Landscaping Inc.; LG Construction Inc.; AB Trucking and Contracting LLC; Waynetta Mitchell d/b/a Carroll Concrete Construction Company; RND Hauling LLC; G and W Trucking Corporation; and Kelly's Trucking.
The procurement clerk emphasized recurring administrative issues: several respondents did not supply clearly marked public copies (duplicates labeled "copy"), so procurement will treat unmarked additional copies as originals and forward them to the procuring agencies for evaluation. Procurement staff said when copies are not clearly marked the office cannot make those materials available for public review and will note the absence on bid sheets.
Procurement said bid opening results will be posted to the city website by close of business and that the next scheduled bid opening is Dec. 17.
