Resident raises questions about pool operations, concession rentals and staffing at Northampton council meeting

"My family has enjoyed using the pool," Styles said, and then asked about concession-stand rental arrangements, whether the stand could be rented weekly to local businesses, daily attendance numbers, seasonal pass and daily-pass revenue breakdowns, pavilion rental fees, and why wages nearly doubled between 2019 and 2023. Styles asked if the borough might consider rotating concession operators or setting flexible daily rates to increase variety and revenue.
Staff responded that concession-stand rental arrangements and pavilion fees can be discussed offline and that documents can be provided for review. Administration invited Styles to leave her questions so staff could assemble responses and meet with her to walk through attendance and revenue figures.
Council and staff emphasized they had reviewed the pool materials in depth and are continuing internal discussions about possible operational changes. The council encouraged the resident to follow up with staff to obtain detailed figures and to continue the conversation ahead of the next council meeting.
