Robbie Stone, the city’s public service director, told the committee: "This is for a request to replace 3 HVAC units in our West Side Wastewater Treatment Plant." He said two of the units "were damaged in the, July 9, 2025 flash flood event" and the third was already scheduled for replacement this year. Stone said the city bid the work, the lowest bid was from Sylvester and Cochrane, and "funds are available in the current budget for this." Bids were opened on Oct. 29, he said.
The Chair asked whether insurance would cover the flood-related replacements; Stone said staff has "been keeping a running tally of all the items" damaged by the flood and is "working with finance and our risk management group" on recovery and any insurance reimbursement.
