At its Dec. 15 meeting the Dickson County Commission approved routine administrative business including the Nov. 17 minutes, appointments to the agricultural extension committee, and a list of notaries.
The presiding speaker opened the floor for approval of the Nov. 17 minutes; Commissioner McElwain moved to approve and Commissioner Petty seconded. The motion was adopted by voice vote.
Commissioner Simpkins introduced Miss Allison and asked Christine Hall to stand and describe her background. Christine Hall said she "has been a member of our FCE club for the past several years," noted her family’s involvement in 4‑H and her role as an active 4‑H volunteer. The presiding speaker identified two names for appointment to the agriculture extension committee: Christine Hall and Commissioner Becky Spicer. Commissioner Sickman moved the appointments and Commissioner Bridal seconded; the appointments were approved by voice vote.
The clerk read a list of notaries presented for approval, including Victor Andrews, Deidre Churchill, Gabrielle Martinez, Andrea Poston, Cynthia Reagan, Valerie Sawyer, Kim Sessler, James Trout, Suzanne Tummins, and Crystal Turpin. Commissioner Buckner moved the slate and Commissioner Spicer seconded; the slate was approved by voice vote.
The meeting included a birthday recognition for Commissioner Dawson and expressions of thanks to staff, including chief deputy Star Moore and Terry Malone. The commission announced the next regular session for Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026 at 7 p.m.; the transcript’s location wording was garbled, so the county administration building in Dickson County is listed as the meeting site on the record.
