League of Women Voters reports post‑election review: observers found hand counts and machine counts matched

White said three trained observers — Bill Steen, Pat Randall and herself — participated in the statewide post‑election review process, observed hand counts in two precincts selected for Hubbard County, and reported that the hand counts matched the machine tabulations and election‑night results.
"The observations and analysis confirms that Minnesota elections are verifiable and accurate," White told commissioners, noting observers were trained in a multi‑session process, signed a code of conduct, and used a multi‑page survey form to document procedures. She said observers found local election staff followed statutory requirements and conducted hand counts transparently; there were no outside disruptions noted during Hubbard County observations.
A commissioner asked why only two precincts are reviewed; White said the number is population‑based and precincts are chosen at random at the state level. The League said it will continue offering candidate forums and public information materials to increase voter understanding of the process.
Commissioners thanked White, commended the county elections staff and discussed the possibility of more local observers in future cycles.
