Planning commission notes Dec. 4 housing action plan public hearing; inspector retires after 26 years

A staff member filling in for Director Christy told the Mountlake Terrace Planning Commission on Nov. 24 that the housing action plan will have a public hearing on Dec. 4, with final action expected at that time. The staffer said critical areas and floodplain management updates are scheduled for a public hearing on Dec. 18.
The staff member thanked the planning commission for its role in amending and refining the housing action plan and said the city hopes council will take final action in early December. The substitute also announced that construction inspector Tom Morley, who has worked for the city for 26 years, is retiring this week and that interviews are underway to fill the position before his departure.
The commission discussed routine scheduling and whether the final meeting of the year would be canceled because of the holidays. No substantive policy actions were taken during the director’s report.
