Committee chair Ken Carney said the committee approved a $19,500 invoice from Carmody Torrance Sandak and Hennessy and a $471 invoice for Glade Street fence repair from Frankston Fence Company. "The threshold before going out to public bid is now 35,000, moved up from 10,000," Carney said while noting the change to the city purchasing ordinance.
Carney described a previously approved proposal for Daniel's Equipment Company to supply specialized extractor washers used to decontaminate firefighter gear and said the vendor had slightly overspent its ARPA allocation; finance staff are reconciling the difference. The committee approved the invoice to Daniel's Equipment by voice vote.
On capital projects, the committee approved a $25,000 design proposal listed in the packet from "Antoniz and Associates" to add space to the animal shelter, expanding a cat room and adding small meeting rooms. Carney said the mayor had already signed the proposal and that design funding would come from leftover police-shed funds plus ARPA and urban grant dollars. Carney told the committee that "between the two, we think we not only have enough, but there may be some extra funds".
Committee members also approved a Brooks Environmental Consulting proposal for environmental sampling tied to demolition work at 816 Sabin Avenue to expand a Center Fire District parking lot.
