Board approves up to $182,614.50 from special building funds to cover Titan Activity Complex overage

Administration summarized funding for the Titan Activity Complex, saying the board previously approved up to $2,500,000 for the project and that subsequent change orders and added costs increased the project total. The district cited grants and contributions that offset overages: a Nebraska turf grant for $119,606.50, a USTA grant of $152,000 and prior donations of $74,378. Administration said, after those offsets, $182,614.50 remained and requested a do-not-exceed authorization to use special building/grant funds to cover that balance.
"These are not tax dollars," an administrator said, explaining the funds were grant and special-building dollars and could not be reallocated to unrelated fundraising. The board moved and approved the request in a voice vote. Fundraising committee members earlier reported purchasing padding, dugout upgrades and having signed an engineering agreement with JEO for concession/bathroom facilities tied to the complex; the committee also circulated a final-ask flyer for upcoming events.
Administrators said the full project and final accounting will be revisited at the October meeting as part of continuing oversight and public updates.
