Board approves minutes, personnel report and multiple procurement items; tables Varsity Tutors agreement
Summary

The New Haven Board of Education conducted several formal votes on Dec. 8, approving routine minutes and personnel items, carrying multiple Finance & Operations items and tabling a proposed vendor data-sharing agreement.
The board approved the minutes of its Nov. 24, 2025 meeting after a motion and second; roll-call votes were recorded and the motion carried. Superintendent Negron's personnel report was subsequently moved, seconded and approved by recorded roll-call.
In Finance & Operations business, the board moved to approve item 5.01 with United Illuminating; the motion passed with one abstention. The board then considered a data-sharing agreement with Varsity Tutors (agenda item 7.01) and, after discussion about parent outreach and committee vetting, Miss Downer moved to table the agreement for further review; that motion carried by roll call. The board later approved a package of procurement items listed on the agenda (one agreement, six purchase orders, one contract and three change orders) by recorded vote.
All formal votes were taken by roll-call and recorded at the meeting. The board instructed committees and administration to review tabled materials and report back to the full board before any vendor deployments.
