Supervisor Jim (speaker 6) described recent outreach to senator offices and said county representatives secured a willingness from a sponsor’s office to consider the county’s proposed amendment. Board members said endorsing the RRC platform gives weight to local priorities when counties present platforms to the General Assembly and to the RRC.
The board moved, seconded and approved endorsement of the platform, including the requested changes to SB 974. Supervisors noted the endorsement aligns the county with the Virginia Association of Counties’ proposals on similar subjects.
