The district will cover airport transportation and one substitute teacher per trip; the estimated student cost is approximately $2,600 each. An unidentified board member asked for the wording to be amended so the item read as two possible date ranges rather than listing three separate trips.
The board also approved a request for 30 high‑school students to attend the TIA Atlantic Coast indoor percussion championships in Wildwood, New Jersey, April 29–May 3, 2026. The estimated student cost for that trip is about $500; the district will provide transportation and two substitutes for the two school days missed.
Mister Case moved the field‑trip motion and Mister Schneider seconded; the board approved the trips by voice vote.
The district indicated it may solicit supplies and donations for humanitarian and classroom activities associated with the Jamaica travel program, depending on conditions in the destination communities and safety evaluations.
