Quakertown board sworn in new members, elects officers and assigns committees

Quakertown Community School District — The board held its annual reorganization meeting Dec. 2, administering oaths to newly elected members, electing officers for 2026 and assigning committee memberships and liaisons.

Mayor Wayne Carter administered the oath of office to incoming and returning directors, who posed for photos and exchanged congratulations after the ceremony. A temporary president, Todd Hippoff, was appointed to preside over officer nominations.

Solicitor Mister Garten explained that elections follow the Pennsylvania School Code and district policy 005; nominations were then opened. David O'Donnell was nominated and accepted the nomination for board president; the board confirmed officers by voice vote. A vice president was nominated and approved in the same manner.

The board also completed a lengthy slate of committee and liaison appointments, naming chairs or representatives for communications, education, facilities, finance, human resources, policy, student activities and several ad hoc committees, including a QE ad hoc committee to consider disposition of materials. Several members volunteered as alternates where needed and chairs agreed to coordinate schedules to avoid conflicts with Upper Bucks Tech School and athletic programming.

Board members discussed the proposed 2026 meeting calendar, noting a shift of some meetings to Wednesdays. To allow for public advertising timelines the board agreed to leave January dates as scheduled and said it would revisit the calendar by email in the next few days.

The meeting concluded with approval of the Nov. 19 minutes and a short superintendent update that included the announcement of Jason Magdich joining the administrative team.
