Weber County approves consent agenda, district board reappointments and a one‑year green‑waste contract

At its Dec. 2 meeting, the Weber County Commission approved the consent agenda, which included multiple purchase orders and warrants, approved a set of special‑district board reappointments and appointments (resolutions 49–55), and authorized a one‑year contract with Diamond Tree Experts Inc. for green‑waste grinding services.

Finance staff Ricky Hatch summarized the week’s purchasing and warrants: eight purchase orders totaling about $92,000 (including $64,000 for library books and materials and $16,000 for the sheriff's policy manual subscription), and 162 warrants totaling roughly $8.3 million. The largest single disbursement reported was an escrow release to Shelter Hill Developers for about $7.7 million; other top payees included a $329,000 award to the Ogden Dinosaur Park and Museum Foundation.

The commission approved a series of resolutions reappointing or appointing trustees to local improvement and cemetery districts. Those actions (resolutions 49–55) were presented by staff and approved by roll call votes; examples include appointments to the Green Hills Water & Sewer District, Wheeler Basin District, Mount Ogden Public Infrastructure Districts, Roy Water Conservancy District, Plain City Cemetery District, Trappers Loop Water Improvement District, and West Weber Taylor Cemetery District.

The commission also approved a one‑year contract with Diamond Tree Experts Inc. to grind stockpiled green waste at the Weber County Transfer Station; staff said the contract is on an as‑needed basis with no guaranteed payment if services are not used.

All listed consent and contract items were approved by motion and vote during the meeting.
