Weber County appoints seven members to new countywide planning commission, draws staggered terms

The Weber County Commission on Dec. 2 approved Resolution 48‑2025, establishing a new countywide Weber County Planning Commission and appointing seven members from eight applicants.
Planning director Rick Grover told the commission staff received eight applications for the seven‑member volunteer board and that the new body will handle planning for unincorporated Weber County. "We have received 8 applications for the new Weber County Planning Commission," Grover said while listing applicants. The applicants included Sarah Wickren, Julia Stevens, Cammy/Tammy Klontz, Andrew Fivero, Casey Neville, Kyle Lindsey, Jed McCormick and Wayne Andreotti.
Commissioners selected seven candidates and then drew term expirations by lot. The draw assigned Andrew Fivero a term expiring June 30, 2026; Kyle Lindsey and Casey Neville terms expiring June 30, 2027; Tammy Klontz and Sarah Wickren terms expiring June 30, 2028; and Jed McCormick and Wayne Andreotti terms expiring June 30, 2029. The newly appointed commission’s first meeting is scheduled for Dec. 9.
A roll‑call vote recorded 'Aye' from the commissioners listed in the roll call and the resolution carried. Commissioners and staff thanked applicants for volunteering; several commissioners emphasized the need for staff to educate volunteer planning commissioners on state land‑use code and the public role of the commission.
