Itasca board approves $20,500 library building/maintenance levy, two intergovernmental agreements and $1.05M in bills

The Village of Itasca on Oct. 21 approved a slate of finance and intergovernmental actions: a separate levy for the public library building and maintenance fund of $20,500, two intergovernmental agreements on pedestrian crossings and pavement planning, and payment of the village's monthly bills totaling $1,045,957.08.
Trustee Powers explained that the library building/maintenance fund levy is a state requirement that must be shown separately even though the full library budget will be incorporated into the village budget in December. "This is a state requirement that the ... building and maintenance fund for the library needs to be levied separately," Powers said. He moved to waive the second reading and take final action; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call.
On the consent agenda, the board approved Resolution 1661‑25, accepting an intergovernmental agreement with the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) to fund Irving Park Road pedestrian‑activated crossings, and Resolution 1662‑25, accepting a CMAP technical‑assistance agreement for the village pavement management plan. The consent agenda was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
Trustee Powers presented the record of bills totaling $1,045,957.08, calling out recurring payments including the DuPage Water Commission (water usage), Republic Services (trash) and payroll and benefit expenses. The board voted to approve the bills by roll call.
Votes on these items were recorded by roll call; trustees present voted in favor as recorded by the clerk. The village will include the library budget in December and proceed with the approved intergovernmental agreements and payments.
