The mayor and city council proclaimed Nov. 29, 2025, as Small Business Saturday in San Bernardino and recognized several local merchants at the meeting.
Representatives from Lamest Candy Company (Heather and Tim) described their family-run candy store as a four-generation business with more than 2,000 items and invited residents to shop locally during the holiday season. Angie Simon, manager of Elliot's Pet Emporium, spoke about the store's long tenure in the city and upcoming promotions.
The mayor and council encouraged residents to support neighborhood shops and noted that small businesses are a backbone of the local economy. The proclamation text (read on the record) highlighted the role of locally owned enterprises in providing jobs, supporting nonprofits and schools, and fostering neighborhood investment.
Council recognized the merchants with applause and asked staff to promote Small Business Saturday outreach.
