At its December meeting, the Palmdale City Council presented an accommodation recognizing Lockheed Martin Skunk Works and the X-59 low‑boom flight demonstrator for its first flight and local economic contributions. Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt read a proclamation declaring October 2025 as Lockheed Martin Skunk Works X-59 Day in Palmdale; Pat Labo, Lockheed Martin program manager for the X‑59, and Kathy Baum, NASA project manager, thanked the city and noted local workforce ties and the October 28 first flight.
The council also read proclamations honoring Clifton Young (35 years) and Terry Stewart (22 years) for long service in public works.
