Supervisor Grady outlines Petrifying Springs parking study, park upgrades and facilities work

He also said one Petrifying Springs maintenance building had been torn down and that the main maintenance shop is approaching its 100th year and is scheduled for refurbishment around August 2026.
Grady reported on highways operations, noting the seasonal transition to winter plowing and salting and delays in delivery for heavy equipment such as multi-axle trucks. He said the County Highway WG bridge replacement over the Dutch Gap Canal east of Highway 45 (near the state line) was completed and reopened Nov. 14.
Facilities updates included near-complete rooftop HVAC work at county facilities with punch-list items remaining and backup generators nearing completion at Brookside and campus fuel tanks. Grady also said a cold-storage facility project at Brightendale was awarded to Rausch Construction with expected completion in 2026. He closed by summarizing routine staffing and procurement challenges and thanking the board for attention to the report.
