The Farmington Hills City Council affirmed Councilmember Jackie Boulware as mayor pro tem during its Dec. 8 meeting. Councilmembers closed nominations and approved Boulware’s nomination by voice vote.
Boulware, who previously served as mayor pro tem during the COVID-19 period, said she is "thrilled and excited, and I look forward to that opportunity in the coming months," and thanked her colleagues for the vote.
The nomination was moved and seconded during the nominations item. Council closed nominations and then voted to confirm Boulware. The council did not record a roll-call tally for the mayor pro tem selection; the chair stated the motion "carries."
Boulware will serve a full year as mayor pro tem and will be able to attend ceremonial events and other duties tied to the position. The council moved on to regular business after the appointment.
The council’s next scheduled regular session items include a January goal-setting session on Jan. 10, 2026, and the next regular meeting in February.
