Keene honors cross-country standout Sullivan “Sully” Sturtz

Keene City Council recognized Keene High senior Sullivan Sturtz for a standout 2025 cross-country season — Division 1 and All-State honors, multiple invitational wins, a course record and qualification for the meet of champions — and wished him well as he heads to UMass Amherst.
The council recognized Sullivan "Sully" Sturtz of Keene High School for an exceptional 2025 cross-country season.
Mayor Khan detailed Sturtz's accomplishments, including New Hampshire Division 1 and All-State honors, winning multiple invitationals, setting a course record at the home course (3.2 miles in 15 minutes, 50 seconds) and finishing fifth at the New England championships. The mayor also acknowledged coach Dave Goldsmith and parents Tanya and John Sturtz in the audience.
Sturtz addressed the council to thank the team, his family and coach. "This is a great thing," he said, adding he could not have achieved the season without community support.
Councilors congratulated Sturtz and wished him well as he prepares to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
