The Hana Holiday Craft Show drew a crowd to the Ken Miller Recreation Center in Torrance, where organizers said more than 40 vendors from California and beyond filled the hall with handmade goods, books and artwork.
"More than 40 vendors from California and beyond fill the Ken Miller Recreation Center for the Hana Holiday Craft Show," said Christine Lee of the city of Torrance, who promoted the event and directed visitors to the city event page.
The show highlighted local entrepreneurs and artists. Dr. Anna Huang, co‑founder of Mindful Peach, said she turned her experience as a mother and psychologist into a series of three books intended to help children and multiple generations talk about feelings. "Based on my experience as a mom and a psychologist, I wrote three books, and each book helps kids deal with their big feelings," she said.
Artist and 1 plus 2 studio owner Neli Hanna described her portfolio of tropical and beach‑themed pieces and pointed to public art in the city as part of her work. "This is my Torrance Springs. So I did the utility box on the corner of Sartori Boulevard and Torrance," Hanna said, citing a local utility‑box mural as an example of her public projects.
Organizers and vendors framed the event as a small‑business booster and community gathering. "Seeing the crowds is great. Just shows the crazy amount of support that we get," an event host said, thanking customers for coming out.
For more information about future neighborhood events, city staff advised attendees to visit torranceca.gov/events. "I'm Christine Lee with the city of Torrance," she said at the close of remarks.
The craft show followed the city's seasonal events calendar and organizers said they expect the marketplace to continue expanding in coming years.
