The Lancaster City Council on Tuesday received a detailed briefing from the Lancaster Police Department on recent enforcement operations and new technology planned to support local public safety. The chief outlined a string of targeted actions that included undercover anti-trafficking stings, retail-theft operations, traffic-enforcement campaigns and raids of illegal gambling locations.
Chief (Rod/Rowe) told council the department conducted two undercover anti-trafficking operations on Sierra Highway that led to nine arrests for solicitation and indecent exposure and the towing of six vehicles. In retail-theft operations at two Walmart stores and a Home Depot, officers made nine arrests and recovered more than $1,500 in stolen property, the chief said. Traffic-enforcement work…
