Cheshire council elects Peter Talbot chair, approves 2026 meeting schedule and committee rosters

The council approved resolution number 120125-1 to adopt its calendar of regular meetings for 2026. The resolution lists monthly meetings (generally the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.) and includes the following dates: Jan. 13, Feb. 10, March 10, April 14, May 12, June 9, July 14, Aug. 11, Sept. 8, Oct. 13, Nov. 10, Dec. 8, and Jan. 12, 2027. The motion to approve the schedule was made and seconded and passed unanimously by those present.
Chair Talbot announced committee assignments and council liaisons for the two-year term. Among the committee chairs named in the meeting transcript were Miss Manky (Audit), Miss Pearson (Budget chair), Mister Tedisco (Ordinance Review), Miss Kramer (Personnel), Mister Wolf (Planning), and Mister Jinx (Sustainability). Liaison roles listed included Board of Education (Miss Manky), Planning and Zoning (Mister Tedisco), Historic District (Mister Wolf), Housing Authority (Mister Walsh), and others as announced by the chair.
The council then moved to an orientation portion of the meeting led by the town attorney before adjourning. No formal objections to the elections or schedule were recorded on the public record during the meeting.
