The Del Norte County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 25 adopted updated salary ranges and wage adjustments for unrepresented county employees, set to take effect Dec. 19, 2025.
Supervisor Howard moved to adopt the resolutions and publicly thanked staff and the consultant team whose analysis informed the recommendations. Supervisor Starkey seconded the motion; the board approved the measures by roll-call vote with all present members voting Yes. Board members noted the action implements a long-running review intended to bring county pay closer to comparable counties and to address longstanding equity concerns for exempt staff.
County staff said the work involved a detailed classification and compensation analysis and engagement with bargaining unit representatives. The CAO and Human Resources were directed to implement the wage adjustments and update payroll processes so changes take effect on the specified date. The board also signaled it intends to consider remaining positions at a future meeting.
Next steps include administrative implementation by the County Administrative Office and Human Resources and communications to the county’s bargaining units and employees.
