Bellevue council approves package of purchases, easements and a $425,000 planning contract extension

Key votes included approval to purchase a new fountain for American Heroes Park from Midwest Turf and Irrigation not to exceed $150,667.29 (motion by Councilwoman Welch, second by Collins); authorization to sign a proposal with Porter Trust and Carlson for retractable walls for the fire training site not to exceed $83,750 (motion by Councilwoman Collins, second by Welch); and approval to purchase two cemetery trucks and one facility maintenance truck from Anderson Auto Group not to exceed $226,701 (motion by Councilwoman Collins, second recorded as McCall). All passed with recorded unanimous votes.
The council approved three temporary easement acquisition contracts with Midwest Right of Way related to the Whitted Creek 25th Street project in an amount not to exceed $7,430 (motion by Welch, second by Collins) and separately approved acquisition of temporary easement contracts for Mission Avenue reconstruction and streetscape for multiple tracts in an amount not to exceed $8,360; Mayor Ollie stated he had a conflict on several of the Mission Avenue right-of-way items and said he could not vote on those (the council nonetheless voted to approve and authorized the council president to sign).
Item 16f extended a professional services agreement with RDG Planning and Design Inc. for the "CDBG Doctor multi jurisdictional housing resilience plan" with a contract end date of 01/15/2026 in an amount not to exceed $425,000; the motion (Casey/Collins) passed unanimously. The council also approved purchase of a document storage system from Midwest Storage Solutions not to exceed $24,860.05 (motion by Welch, second by Collins).
Council members described the items as routine and thanked staff for completing procurement work. The meeting record indicates all items passed with "all voting in favor."
