Peoria County signs intergovernmental agreement with Peoria to buy CloudGavel electronic warrant system through Tyler

Peoria County approved a contract amendment to procure the CloudGavel electronic warrant system and an intergovernmental agreement with the city of Peoria to split implementation and ongoing costs. Mark said the request came from court administration and the Peoria Police Department and that Tyler's purchase of CloudGavel should not affect the county's contract.
Gabe, who described the product to the board, said the current search-warrant process is largely paper-based and can take multiple hours, especially after hours when officers must find and meet an on-call judge. "This new process makes it digitally streamlined," Gabe said, describing an app and browser-based workflow that lets judges connect by video, swear officers in and sign warrants remotely. "So it takes from hours down to minutes," he added. Gabe said roughly 90% of the county's search warrants come from the city of Peoria and that the city agreed to cover half of the cost, with the sheriff's office also adopting the system and standardizing templates.
Board members asked whether Tyler's acquisition of CloudGavel created a risk that the product would change or be discontinued. Gabe said Tyler plans to keep the CloudGavel team in place and is expected to maintain the same product and team while providing broader enterprise support. The board voted to approve the procurement and IGA; the transcript records the motion as carried.
