New Crosby sixth‑grade campus set to begin construction Feb. 2026; high‑school parking work on schedule

Nicole Barrios, project manager for Stantec, updated the board on the new sixth‑grade campus design and timeline. She said construction documents are scheduled for completion in January, with bidding and negotiation planned in early January and board approvals for selections expected in February. “Construction is slated to commence in February 2026 and through substantial completion for May 2027,” Barrios said.
Barrios described site constraints between the high school, middle school and stadium, and explained secure vestibules for multiple drop‑off points (parent, bus, SPED). The building plan includes 24 classrooms, six science labs, a media center anchor and separated quiet and noisy program areas for fine arts, dining and gym functions. The team also highlighted a planned mid‑November one‑hour workshop teaching high‑school students 3‑D modeling techniques tied to the project.
JP Grama (LAN) reported the high‑school parking expansion is on schedule and under budget, describing recent grading and detention‑pond work and showing staging and pipe storage on site. He said the project is proceeding with bond savings and that crews recently began stripping topsoil and initial grading in Area 3.
Both presentations were informational; trustees asked implementation questions about site access and materials but took no formal action at this meeting.
