VMRC approves multiple shoreline and dredge permits en bloc (items 2b–2g)

Staff presented summaries of each request: a 70-linear-foot riprap revetment at 131 Cooper's Point Lane (item 2b); an Upper Brandon wetlands mitigation bank dredge and submerged-land authorization involving 1,098 square feet and 23 cubic yards of dredge (item 2c); a 25-foot extension to Pier 3 at Newport News Shipbuilding (item 2d); a Norfolk sand-nourishment project involving thousands of cubic yards of sand along municipal shoreline (item 2e); annual maintenance dredging in the Crab Creek municipal channel by the City of Virginia Beach (item 2f) including a March 1–Sept. 30 dredging window to protect juvenile summer flounder; and Virginia Electric Power Company stormwater/outfall work tied to a coal combustion residuals closure project (item 2g).
Staff recommended approval for each item with the standard permit conditions appropriate to each activity (time-of-year restrictions, site-specific coordinates for channel markings, sediment-handling plans and subaqueous lands conditions). The commission approved items 2b–2g on a single motion. The transcript records an unclear numeric tally in one line of the minutes; staff will issue final permit packages with the standard conditions and any site-specific requirements described in the staff recommendation.
Each permit requires the usual VMRC procedural steps (payment of applicable fees, final plan acceptance by staff and any required field coordination) before in-water work may begin.
