The Community Consolidated School District 46 Board of Education voted Dec. 17 to approve several consent and action items, including the immediate termination of a probationary employee and a package of facilities-related awards tied to upcoming media center work.

The board carried a motion to terminate the employment of Rosio Cleveland, described in the meeting as a probationary employee, and recorded aye votes by Weidman, Miller, Mack and Heun. The chair stated, “Motion carries.”

Board members also approved student fees for fiscal year 2026, certified and PSRP staff seniority lists for 2025–26, and bid awards for media-center construction projects at Frederick, Meadowview, Park and Prairie View. The board approved purchase of furniture for the media centers as a separate motion; the vote on that item was recorded as carried.

All motions on the consent and action agenda were moved and seconded during the public meeting and carried by recorded voice/roll-call votes as listed in the meeting record. Several board members asked for student input before votes on the media-center bids; student representatives described planned seating and flexible study areas for the renovated libraries.

The board concluded the public portion of the meeting by voting to enter closed session under provisions of the Illinois Open Meetings Act pertaining to personnel and student disciplinary matters.

What happens next: the administration will proceed with contract implementation and scheduling for the approved construction and furniture purchases, and personnel matters referenced during the meeting will be handled in closed session as indicated by the board.
