On second reading the Cheyenne City Council approved a set of annexation and zoning ordinances for parcels primarily located south of Laramie Street and along Story Boulevard.
The council approved Ordinance No. 7 to annex about 20 properties generally south of Laramie Street and west of Parsons Place. Ordinance No. 8 set corresponding city zoning classifications (MR, mixed-use business and community business) for annexed parcels. Ordinance No. 9 approved an owner-requested annexation of roughly 20.41 acres south of Story Boulevard for future residential development; Ordinance No. 10 assigned AG (agricultural) zoning to that annexed land; and Ordinance No. 11 rezoned part of the same area from AG and CB to NR3 (neighborhood residential high density) to permit multifamily development.
Public Services Committee members recommended approval for each item, and council adopted the ordinances by voice vote after no members of the public asked to speak to these specific second readings.
The actions set the regulatory framework for planned residential and mixed-use development in eastern Cheyenne and for owner-requested development in the Story Boulevard corridor. Council members offered no substantive amendments during the second-readings sequence and all passed by council voice vote.
Next steps: Zoning classifications become effective per city code timelines for second-reading adoptions; specific site plans and permits will follow the standard planning and development review process.
